Back to Louisville....having fun

Sorry for the lag between posts, but I have moved my base of operations to Louisville in the past week and things have been quite busy.

I get more excited as the days go by... places, personalities and star power are coming into focus. I can't divulge names at this point, but I will let you all in on it as we get closer to more exciting news.

I know that sounds very suspicious, but I must tell you that I sat in two particular meetings this week in Louisville with committee heads and vendors, and the energy and momentum I felt in those meetings gave me chills. Yes, folks, IT'S HAPPENING!!

I said in one of the meetings that I felt the thrill of it running up and down my spine. Not only was I a part of this energy, but I witnessed the vitality and electricity running though the local volunteers. We are all so excited, it's terrific when you see the festival that's running in your head, running in their head. That's when you know the light is getting greener.

Opening night is going to be something truly special, every Louisvillian is going to want to be there and if they miss it, they will regret not being there. And the festival is only going to grow from there.

Our seminars are falling into place, and our films are still pouring in from submissions. We now have close to 180 films submitted and they are still coming in. I have to admit this is the hard part. So many are so good.

Which brings me to the other exciting part of this week. We had several meetings with committee heads and have put in place our jury committees. I am so pleased and proud of the proficient professionals that have stepped up to the plate here in Louisville. This is quite a group of pro's that make me feel very comfortable.

We talked of the team in Hollywood that sat for days and hours in the darkened screening room making the tedious selections for the juried awards here.

We still have a lot to do, and are in full swing with energy and ambition. Keep an eye out there will be more to see and hear as we get closer.

The other thing that was exciting this week is our esteem judges picked the winning poster in the poster contest. You will be excited to see the winner at a special event I will tell you about later this week. So keep an eye out for it. You're all invited.
